2024 Colorado College Student Projects
Students Learn About the Fountain Creek Watershed
In the Spring of 2024, the District partnered with Colorado College Landscape Processes and Evaluation class and their professor Sarah Schanz. Fountain Creek Watershed District (FCWD) Executive Director Alli Schuch provided an introduction to the District, its work, and an overview of the Fountain Creek Watershed for the class in early April. Students spent time in the field observing and measuring some of the District's projects, developed three storyboards, and presented them to the Citizen Advisory Group at its April meeting. These storyboards provide an overview and evaluation of the District's work around erosion control, the erratic nature of the creek, and thoughts on future projects.
The District will continue to work with Colorado College on these types of projects as this was a mutually beneficial partnership.
