The healthy Fountain Creek is a system with resiliency and the ability to adapt to some degree of change as it seeks to find its balance

This arial photo shows a portion of the creek roughly at the El Paso/Pueblo county border. When in balance, the creek is more naturally stable. There are no large aggradation or degradation areas, there is a healthy riparian buffer zone and a narrower channel width, and the creek is staying within its natural belt width. There are no major human encroachments in the form of infrastructure (utilities or transportation) and land use. Tthis results in a healthy ecosystem with flourishing flora and fauna.
